A Beautiful Maternity | Edmonton maternity photographer

This gorgeous couple came to me recently for their maternity session. She is the twin sister of a lady I photographed the exact same time a year ago with their first baby. They are both gorgeous and so easy to photograph! The little one is due mid January and I can’t wait to meet baby! Here is a sneak peak for you, the gallery will be up right away. Thank you for sharing this special time with me!

A Cool Wedding | Edmonton photographer

On Thanksgiving weekend, I had the opportunity to again work with Andrea to assist with a beautiful wedding. The wedding was beautiful, the weather not so much.. Although the overcast skies were welcome, the cold and snow made for a very chilly bridal party. Andrea is so great, and has so many creative idea’s, I just try to stay out of the way and shoot from my point of view.  Here are a few images I liked most.

Congratulations to A & C! You were both fantastic! And thank you again Andrea for the opportunity!

Last week I had the pleasure of meeting “A” and her beautiful family. They are expecting baby #2 in just over a month and came to me to capture this special time with their son “K” who is adorable! This little boy had the most infectious smile and despite being shy, he warmed up to me pretty quick! I’m just good like that!

Here are a couple fav’s from the session as I’m getting ready to put the gallery up.

Thank you for allowing me to photograph this special time! I look forward to meeting the new one.

Wedding Bells | Edmonton Photographer

About a month ago, I was asked by my friend Andrea if I would like to second shoot a wedding with her. I had mentioned an interest a while ago so I said for sure! I have done a few weddings in the past, but I never really felt compelled to take on weddings. I’ll admit, I do LOVE wedding photography, I just don’t know if it fits me.

The wedding was this past Saturday AKA Crazy Storm Day, and we were lucky to be able to dodge all the weather and while the city was falling apart, we were totally unaware inside at night. I had a great time doing this, and certainly appreciate all that goes into photographing a wedding. Andrea is an amazing photographer and it was a treat watching and spending the day with her.

Just a few that I want to share.

Thanks for stopping by ! Carmen

Lac La Biche Marathon | Edmonton Childrens Photographer

Last weekend I made the trip up to Lac La Biche to do photos for 3 families. I raced against the clouds and got to town just when the magic light was available. We started off on a beach in Churchill Provincial Park…I think thats the place, and it was beautiful. I have way too many great photos for each family to pick from, so I’m just putting a few of my favorties from each up for a sneak peek. It was a great time, and I’m so happy everything worked out. Enjoy your sneak peek and I’ll have all the galleries up shortly!

These are just a few for now. I’ll try to get a few more sneak peeks up over the weekend before I finish the galleries. Thank you again for the great time and showing me such a beautiful place!

A Special Family | Edmonton family photography

This is the M Family. They are, without a doubt, the most amazing family I’ve ever had the priviledge of meeting through my photography. Mom first came to me back in 2004 for a family portrait session. That session I remember so well. Everyone was happy, having fun, joking around and most of all soo full of love. Last summer, I received and email from Gillian and as I read it, I broke down and couldn’t believe the words I was reading. Jake, the middle boy passed away suddenly after a tragic accident in May 2007. As I read the words, I sobbed thinking about the family. Jake was 2 days older than my son Jordan and maybe knowing that made it impossible for me to comprehend. Gillian asked if the photos from their session were available, and if so could she see them. Of course, I immediately searched through my archived disks and found the images and arranged for her to have the disk to view and keep. My friend and fellow photographer Iasha Tryhuba and I also gave them a gallery wrapped canvas print of a family portrait from 2004.

We discussed getting together again in the future for a session again and last Friday we arranged to do some family portraits. It was so humbling to see this family again and see the love between them. They were so happy, having fun, joking around and all the while, keeping Jake close by. A beautiful photo of Jake was always close and we made sure that he was a part of this session. I truly feel blessed to have met this family and to know them. They are so amazing, and I’m honored to be able to be their photographer.

Thank you Gillian, Mike, Josh, Sydney and Jake for sharing yourselves with me.

Here are a few sneak peeks from Friday
